Professional History

Over the last few years, I have tried to further my journalistic career by getting experience in different fields of the industry and carry on my learning through studying Multimedia Journalism at the University of Salford.

The University of Salford

September 2015 - July 2018

During my time at the University of Salford I have applied myself to my course in many ways. In my first two years at the university, I took it upon myself to write for Quays News and co-presented a radio show on Shock Radio.

In my third year at university, alongside my studies, I was President of a society which has strengthened my skills of time-management.

Alongside being in charge of a society, I have been able to build up my journalistic portfolio during newsdays. One thing that I am pleased to show, is my rebranding of the third year newspaper, now called 'Salford Now'.

During my studies I have also had experience working in journalism. In 2017, I joined the News team at The Liverpool Echo for a week in July and a week in November and also the team at BBC Newsround for two weeks. Here I managed to further my journalistic skills of writing for online and researching.

Quays News Reporter

September 2015 - Present

As a reporter for Quays News, I have had opportunities to interview many celebrities and those in the public eye, alongside researching newsworthy story ideas.

In the past I have attended many press events, theatre productions and gigs and following this, reviewed the event/show.

CBBC Newsround Reporter and Researcher

13th November 2017 - 24th November 2017

For 2 weeks I took part in work experience with BBC Newsround.

During my time here, I gained knowledge and understanding on how a news programme for children is produced.

During the two weeks I took on many roles which included being part of the web team, research team and digital team which helped me further my understanding of journalism and the creation of a news broadcast.

The Liverpool Echo News Reporter

24th July 2017 - 28th July 2017
6th November 2017 - 10th November 2017

In 2017 I joined the team at The Liverpool Echo for two weeks, one week in July and another in November.

During my time here I gained knowledge and understanding about the wider world of journalism and getting a sense of how a newsroom works. During my time here, I had experience finding and writing my own stories which were published online and in their print publication.
